About
Hi, I’m Michelle. I support youth, young adults, and families navigating relationship challenges, identity exploration, and life transitions. If you’re feeling stuck or emotionally exhausted, therapy can be a space to begin healing and to rediscover your voice. Sometimes it can feel like life has thrown you a curveball and it’s helpful to have someone present to support you through these challenges. My therapeutic approach is deeply person-centred and narrative-based, as I believe that you are the author of your own story. Our sessions can be the start to building self-agency and reauthoring narratives that no longer serve you. I am here to provide a compassionate, safe space where your experiences are heard without judgment.
As a second-generation, Chinese-Canadian woman, I understand that it can be challenging to reconcile different parts of your cultural identity with generational expectations. Trying to figure out who you are while navigating both cultural and societal norms is a delicate balance, and it can be even harder if you are dealing with other things like burnout, relational conflict, or stress and anxiety. I recognize that opening up to others about your struggles can feel incredibly vulnerable, so I approach therapy with curiosity and openness, and ask thoughtful questions to better understand your unique experiences. Working in the non-profit sector has taught me that people are resilient and have the capacity to deal with unexpected and difficult life events. My practice is grounded in empathy, with a focus on clients’ strengths and building a sense of connection.
Beyond the therapy room, I enjoy playing volleyball and reading. I also love trying new restaurants in the GTA with friends. I believe that connection plays an important role in our day-to-day lives, and I bring that energy into my profession as well.
If you’re considering taking the next step, I’d love to connect. Book a free 15-minute consultation to explore whether therapy feels like the right fit for you.
